a new year.

hi.
may to january, that's a pretty big gap.
2010 was eventful and a whole lotta out of control. thankfully, mom and dad continue to do well and last year held no big medical stuff for either of them but emotionally it has been a rollercoaster. upheavel within their church...my/our church (all my life and ours, to include troy, since marriage). mom and dad remain in their church but troy and i have made a change.
i'm writing this because this is mom and dad's blog and i have something to say about them. they are amazing, some parents most definitely aren't, but we are most definitely blessed. when troy and i decided to leave winchester cp and join owens chapel cp we talked with mom and dad about our decision, this is what they said, "please let us be there." i was blown away. a perfect example of unconditional love. OF COURSE they would be there, as they always had been, to love, support and encourage us. leaving the winchester church felt like experiencing the death of a loved one. i tried for weeks to enter and go sit in the chapel to pray like i used to, so often, but there has been so much anger and injustice that i felt a huge weight every time i tried to walk through the door. it quickly became very clear, it wasn't where God wanted me to be.
i have been loved unconditionally all my life, every day, down here, by the family God blessed me with and the last year has taught me what conditional love looks like. it is ugly and, definitely, NOT of God...such a disappointment. i can say that i have learned, fully realize and know for sure that people will always fail you, always let you down, sad but true. WE ARE ALL...human. hello God, He's it...strong, steady, consistent, unwavering, not giving us what we want but what He wants for us, even if it hurts, and often, it does, very much.
2011 finds me still here, testing the ground, seeking firm footing and my place in His grand plan, surrounded by a loving family, thankful for my parents and their unconditional love.
2010 is in the books so...
happy new year, enjoy new glimpses into what IS...this life: joyful challenge.
here's to 2011...
